David Bruce was named “Meeting Professionals to Watch in 2010” by Convention South Magazine in the December 2010 issue released today. The article concerning his comments is listed below...

David Bruce, MMP, HTS, the Managing Director of CMP Meeting Services in Southlake, Texas, says you have to push the message that meetings matter. “It continues to be important for every sector of our industry to work together to tell our legislators of the importance meetings bring to each and every congressional district in the country. Without the meetings industry, and the trickledown effect of the dollars it produces, our country would be in far worse shape over time”.

Communicate with Suppliers: Due to the economy being what it is, we have found that the hotels have had to cut back their staff to the point where I have been called to action far more frequently. It seems some of the hotel staff are less experienced than ever before. Thus, we have had to be far more diligent with communicating our needs to the hotel, especially giving them input prior to the meeting. And, we have been far more “aware” during the meeting, as well as following the event with the accounting department to ensure that our clients receive accurate billing.

Location, Location, Location: The location of a particular event is critical to the success of the meeting. Determining what is an optimal location for a particular client is by far the most critical aspect of the meeting in our eyes.



   

CMP Staff Receive New Certifications

CMP Meeting Services is pleased to announce that all members of our team have completed the Marriott Meeting Professional (MMP) Certification.

Also, Bob Schuster and David Bruce have recently been certified as Hyatt Travel Specialists (HTS).
