David Bruce, Managing Director

As managing director, David Bruce stands at the helm of a dynamic, growing company. His motto: "If you are committed to what you do, you will always do more than you commit to." He walks the talk, taking his work personally and taking his clients' needs to heart. David has more than 30 years of experience in the hotel and meetings industry. With insider knowledge of hotel and resort industry thinking and trends, David has the competitive advantage when negotiating on clients' behalf. In addition to planning meetings, he also manages the company's day-to-day affairs and serves on several professional boards.

Adrian Morris, National Sales Director, Midwest Regional Office

Based in the Windy City, Adrian Morris is the national sales director of our Chicago office. Adrian comes to CMP with many years of sales and customer service experience in the meetings and travel industries. His background includes individual sales, as well as managing and training customer service call centers for a large timeshare corporation. Most recently, Adrian was involved in international business development for the group sales division of the world's largest hotel chain. He is proud to be part of the CMP team, as the company's vast network is a benefit to his clients.

Bob Schuster, Florida Regional Director

With more than 25 years experience in the hospitality industry, Bob Schuster heads up our Florida office. His background is extensive in the areas of marketing, negotiations, public relations, special/media events, tradeshows and corporate golf outings. He is experienced in all market segments, including corporate, association, government, international and sports meetings. His vast network of industry contacts and strong people skills give his clients a level of service that exceeds their expectations.

Cindy Smith, CMP, Government Affairs / Eastern Regional Director

Cindy Smith has earned credentials as a certified meeting professional (CMP), certified government contractor (CGC) and a certified government meeting professional (CGMP). She has 15 years experience managing meetings for groups of 5 to 5,000 persons. Her clients include the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Department of Defense, USDA Leadership Academy, Society of Financial Examiners, FAA, International Hunter Education, International Fish and Wildlife Agencies, N.C. Center for Nonprofits and National Association for Computer-Related Business.

Cindy was named one of the "Top 100 Meeting Professionals to Watch" by Convention South Magazine, "Contract Planner of the Year" for the Society of Government Meeting Professionals National Capital Chapter in 2001 and 2003, and "Meeting Planner of the Year" for Meeting Professionals International-Carolinas Chapter in 1996. She served on the board of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals-National Capital Chapter for four years, and even developed content and was an instructor for the CGMP certification itself.

Before coming to CMP, Cindy worked as director of conferences and special events for a university and assistant to the comptroller for a major corporation. She began her professional career as a paralegal.

Bill (WB) McCane, Western Regional Director

Bill has been there, done that, and got the t-shirt and coffee cup! Bill has spent more than 25 years in corporate sales and marketing, working for Fortune 500 companies like Lanier Worldwide and most recently, a division of Texas Instruments/Burr-Brown located in Tucson, AZ. Bill has a proven record as a "level five manager." In his own fiery words: "I'm a lean, mean, multitasking, problem-solving, customer service, sales and marketing events machine. I have a hands-on style that ensures your needs are delivered on time and within budget. Working for your organization as a contracted meeting and events professional is an honor. Not only will hiring me save you time and money; I will continually work on your behalf so you can focus on your clients and your own goals." Bill specializes in the government, association, business-to-business, nonprofit and team sports markets.

Renee Spivey, Program Manager

For more than 20 years, Renee Spivey has been a conference planner, project manager, administrator and technical writer. She has won contracts with private and government entities for conference and meeting planning, project management, exhibit supervision and presentation, manuscript and manual editing and the design and production of training manuals and annual reports. She has provided meeting minute services for private, civic and government clients.

Renee recently earned her event management certificate at the George Washington University School of Business. She completed her certified government meeting professionals (CGMP) exam in 2009. Renee has provided conference planning and administrative support services to the FAA on multiple projects, and has served as a virtual office manager for a major consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area.

Before joining CMP, Renee gave 25 years of service to the federal government. She worked for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (USDC-EDVA). During her last decade with USDC-EDVA, she served as executive administrator for a U.S. District Judge, responsible for the management of his chambers. Renee has been recognized for her organizational excellence, her writing ability, her attention to detail and her IT skills.

Deborah Wilborn, Registration Center Manager

Deborah Wilborn is CMP's registration center manager, working closely with the website development team on the design, layout and function of online registration services. She is responsible for managing databases, pulling reports for clients, fielding questions from participants, assembling and distributing materials and developing evaluation forms. Deborah completed the certified government meeting professional (CGMP) exam in 2009.

Before joining CMP, Deborah worked as a sales team administrator for a large commercial alarm systems company. She managed a sales team of 15 members and oversaw contract negotiations as well as delivery and installation schedules.

Jenifer Sako, National Sales Manager - Dallas

Jenifer brings 12-years of meeting and tourism experience to the CMP Meeting Services family. In her task as National Sales Manager for the Dallas office, Jenifer possesses a conscientious commitment to her customers and their needs. "I serve my customers by being their partner, consultant, problem solver, guru or whoever they need to have a successful and meaningful conference," Jenifer says.

Jenifer has been recognized throughout her career as a top producer and she has been certified by top industry trainers. As member of SGMP and RCMA, she understood perfectly the pressures felt by meeting planners and others who have been charged with planning meetings for their organizations.

Her background includes leisure, social, military, educational, religious, fraternal and government markets and she specializes in saving these groups time and money.
