In the early 1980’s, CMP’s Managing Director, David Bruce, saw the importance of the Educational Tour and Bus Tour Market during his hotel days as Director of Sales. He attended many trade shows such as ABA and NTA and quickly learned the needs of the Tour Company and the Tour Directors. After managing CMP for many years, David looked for someone who also understood the vision of our firm and had the skill set to develop this portion of the industry. Adrian Morris was the person selected to spearhead this division for CMP.
Based in the Windy City, Adrian Morris is the national sales director of our Chicago office. Adrian came to CMP with many years of sales and customer service experience in the meetings and travel industries primarily focusing his talents on the Tour and Travel Market. His background includes the development of the international business market and Tour and Travel division for the group sales division of the world's largest hotel chain, IHG.
Adrian gravitated toward the Tour & Travel market early in his career, an area few planners cared to go. He was drawn to the fast pace and urgency of each request, and developed innovative methods to get the very best rates from the maximum amount of properties in the shortest possible time. This gave his clients the freedom to concentrate on the many other facets of planning educational tours without being bogged down by making and receiving dozens of phone calls, and organizing all of this information, to simply find the lowest rates for each group. As his clients’ confidence in him grew, the word started to spread that having Adrian, and CMP, as an extension of your team is the way to go.
